This month in Library, we will be taking a look at information literacy. What sounds like something that is rather complex is actually just a fancy name for an act our students do each and every day- find answers for the questions they generate. Whether these questions are driven by an assignment, or simply a quick fact that they can Google, learning what to do with those questions, and then how to navigate the many sources available to them, is a task that is important for all of our students to master. While mastering such a task at the kindergarten level will look very different than that of the 5th grade, the concepts are still the same. To do so, K-3rd grade will be learning about the Super3 model, while 4th and 5th grade will be exploring the Big6 model. To learn more about these models and their purposes, be sure to check out the official website! 4th & 5th Grade Big6 Quiz: http://www.ranchoromero.net/games/Big6/bg6quiz.html 4th & 5th Grade Resource Evaluation Sites: http://www.google.com/technology/pigeonrank.html |
